DescriptionI'm goin' with a fun Superboy cover tonight.I'm always a fan of covers that use the titles to indicate there is a battle going on below. In this case, the box with the issue number is askew, the Superboy title is dipping down instead of (as it usually is) up, and the letters of "SLEDGE-HAMMERED" look a bit joggled too. Love that kind of stuff. It definitely looks like Superboy has his hands full with this mammoth, ham-fisted villain. Look at that mitt! Seems like he has his own Infinity Gauntlet. I really like Bernado's jagged style, especially with Superboy's jacket. Superboy's expression is pretty funny (one eye open, one closed), and his hair has some interesting things goin' on. Absolutely love Doug Hazlewood's inks on this one. I have included two different colorized versions of the cover that I found online. I really like the ultra-red one. Social/Sharing |

You know what's crazy? I didn't even notice Superboy until after I clicked on the color version! Oh, and thank you for buying the non-Grummett Superboy covers! 😁

I also love it when the artists let the battle influence the title dress. This cover def looks like its been sledgehammered. Great pickup!

Superboy needs some rodeo lessons to stay on that steed! I really like how everything is akimbo to support that energetic, destructive cover scene. Superboy had some really fun covers where the characters interacted with the title etc, and I always enjoyed that. Another great pickup, Paul! I'd imagine your collection makes you smile a lot. :) Congrats!
