Early appearance of Jason Todd as Robin by the legendary Don Newton with Alfredo Alcala on inks.

"REMEMBER EVERYTHING I'VE EVER TAUGHT YOU.
THIS IS DEATH WE FACE... NOW!!"

Perhaps a bit much on the dramatics, but oh so good nonetheless. A young, naive, smart-mouthed Jason Todd escaped death in this issue, but was unable to survive past Batman issue #428 when the fans eventually voted to kill him off.

Love this early version of Jason Todd though!

I remember when this piece came up but am clueless as to why I didn't fight for it!!   Really a superb work and who can resist a flared Batman cape and full frontal Newton / Alcala Batman art???  A masterpiece!!!!
