DescriptionRoger "Rog" Bollen was a fantastically talented American comic strip artist, children's book illustrator and TV producer. He started his career as a newspaper cartoonist, with such features as 'Catfish', 'Funny Business' and 'Animal Crackers'. The latter was his most famous comics creation. But Catfish was my favorite.Teaming with the talented Gary Peterman, they produced a strip that never failed to deliver laughs with a sense of irony. Iron and simple gag humor are not easy to produce, but as shown here... they delivered every day. Under Bollen Catfish ran from 1973 - 1986, but actually continued with Fred Wagner handling creative until 1994. Back in the day as a kid this strip was literally the first I'd look for in the paper.
