Catfish Strip 10/24/73

Roger "Rog" Bollen was a fantastically talented American comic strip artist, children's book illustrator and TV producer. He started his career as a newspaper cartoonist, with such features as 'Catfish', 'Funny Business' and 'Animal Crackers'. The latter was his most famous comics creation. But Catfish was my favorite.

With Catfish Bollen produced a strip that never failed to deliver laughs with a sense of irony... and big gags!

Under Bollen Catfish ran from 1973 - 1986, but actually continued with Fred Wagner handling creative until 1994. I'm SO proud to have an example from the FIRST YEAR OF THE STRIP!

Back in the day as a kid this strip was literally the first I'd look for in the paper. Happy times.
