Description
One of my favorite times of the year was around Halloween when New Jersey would be the site of an event that myself and many of my good old friends like to meet up---the Chiller Expo. One of the vendors that frequents the event is the famed artist Bob Eggleton. Not only is he one of the nicest guys, he is one talented person. I was watching him pencil a Godzilla sketch for someone; the guy is amazing! As much as I love Godzilla, a poster print of this painting grabbed me even more than some of the originals he had with him. When I asked him the whereabouts of this piece, he said his home! Well, it's gone from his home to mine... This is Bob's interpretation of a scene from a Lovecraft novel. I love the Creature on the rock as much as the big slimy looking thing in the back. And just look at the detail in the sea! First rate

Not being an expert on Lovecraft I would say possibly. When I asked Bob about the piece, I thought that was an interpretation of Dagon, because of the old one in the right bottom of the painting. But I know there's some kind of weird god-like creature in innsmouth as well, so....Bob told me it was a Shoggoth, whatever the hell that is!

I have been writing a book and one section of it involves Elvis, the hillbilly hound cat,(lol) Lovecraftian monsters and talking cats from a parallel universe. Great fun to write. The horror parody parts of the book are called Maine 75 and El 76.
