Wow! An original Cerebus piece by the legendary artist whose style Dave Sim was using in those early days? What a fabulous score! Well done, Rick, big congrats!

That front cover is awesome, but your back cover is superb. The pose is perfect. You feel like you surveying the scene with him. And just that little bit of color cleverly sets apart the protagonist, and simultaneously creates depth with such a strong foreground. True art. Big congrats!

At the time, BWS drawing Cerebus just seemed like a great inside joke. Looking at this now, it seems like great art. (It probably was great art back in the day also, I just didn't couldn't see past the joke.) Cheers!

Oh, my goodness gracious, Rick - this is an absolute treasure; a proverbial grail. I had xeroxed the front and back covers of SoC book 5 and put them on the front and back of my composition journal in high school. I looked at these pieces of art a LOT, and seeing them here in something other than black and white is a very special treat. :)
Gorgeous colors that are appropriately muted (for a rainy day) and pop out at you (as if on a rainy day). Pure mastery - what a piece! - and the drip of rain falling from the bottom of Cerebus' shield absolutely kills me. Awesome score, Rick. You win CAF tofday. :)

Just an outstanding image, GRAND even, by one of the best to ever do it in BWS. A heroic Cerebus, indeed. Big congrats, Rick!

Fantastic cover! The level of details is mind-boggling and must be a wonder to behold in person. But then, could we expect less from BWS...
