DescriptionMy first Skottie Young cover art piece. I’ve admired his quirky take on lots of books and almost always buy any X-Men variant that he puts out. Now I own an original, and from a great start to an outstanding X series, the once controversial X-Men Gold #1.I really enjoy how Skottie takes some key features to certain characters and highlights these pieces so you know immediately who they are. The one extra fun puzzle piece against the usual for this cover is Kate Pryde (Kitty), who now is leading this awesome new team, cut her hair really short. In the original art piece you can see she doesn’t have a ponytail, but in the published work it is added to help distinguish who this one not so obvious character is. In the series, she keeps the shorter hair and this weird Easter egg is just done for recognition. This cover art piece was also used as the promo card for the new X series, so it got a few great uses. A wonderful X cover to bring home in my “X”traordinary collection. Social/Sharing |

great cover, but Kitty sure has some nerve disrespecting the awesome Duster given her current fashion sense......

Oh my gosh, Skottie Young covers always make me laugh. It's such a gift he has to bring such charm and humor to any character he draws. Really love this one.
