DescriptionI really love a good title splash. They are cheaper than covers and can be just as good. I especially like them when they feature a full image of the hero! With covers growing ever more expensive these are a great alternate.I enjoyed Captain Atom. Cary Bates wrote most of the series and did good solid work. He made Captain Atom a compelling and complicated character. It was not your usual superhero book. Here we have a great rendering of Captain Atom facing off against an angry Red Tornado. This issue featured the Justice League and Swamp Thing. "Battle Beyond the Green" Pencils by Pat Broderick and inks by Bob smith. Written by Cary Bates, co-plotter Greg Weisman. Social/Sharing |

Yep, great title splash! Bob Smith's inks really shine on this page!

A very nice splash, I especially like the Red Tornado appearance, a he's a visually fantastic looking character and woefully underused. As for splashes, they ARE a great alternative to covers, but not just lately. Thay've always been!
