Sgt. Slammer

Will created cover and interior page art for the fictitious Sgt. Slammer comic series featured in the film Russkies (1987) about a group of American boys and a shipwrecked Russian sailor who become friends in the midst of the Cold War. Starring Whip Hubley and a young Joaquin Phoenix and Peter Billingsley (the movie that is, not the comic). This would probably have been a book I would have read myself in 1987. A sketch of Pvt.
