11.5x17.5" thin artboard has pen and ink and inkwash original art by legendary Marvel and DC artist George Pérez w/inks by Jack Abel for page 59 of The Deadly Hands Of Kung Fu, published by Marvel Feb. 1976. Art features seven panels and is from "To Claw the Eyes of Night!" storyline and features White Tiger battling Spider-Man villain The Prowler on rooftop. The battle rages until Prowler falls off roof, much to White Tiger's dismay. Prowler quickly grabs onto side of building and blinds White Tiger w/bright flash when he looks over edge of roof. White Tiger appears in five panels, Prowler appears in five as well. This is relatively early Pérez Marvel art as he made his professional debut in Astonishing Tales #25 (Aug. 1974) as artist of an untitled two-page Deathlok story. He soon became a Marvel regular, rising to prominence w/The Avengers in the mid-1970s. going on to illustrate several other Marvel titles. Top margin has penciled title, issue number as well as characters including White Tiger and Sons of the Tiger. Bottom margin has penciled page number. Back has title and Marvel copyright inkstamps. Back has also bee signed by Pérez in black felt tip pen, Pérez adding "Best" inscription. Artboard is evenly aged and shows moderate wear along top margin, w/scattered insect surface damage (w/some minor surface wear in first two panels) and corner tip/edge wear. .25" spot of staining at bottom center, infringing slightly into art area. Artboard is VG/Fine w/art could be matted and framed for VF display.
