Description
The Trickster traps the real Black Lightning in some goop as an elephant charges at the circus while an imposter Black Lightning rushes in to help.

Love this early work from Trevor Von Eeden who was only 16-17 years old when he penciled this issue from DC's first solo title to feature an African-American hero. Vince Colletta doesn't get a lot of love from fans but I actually like his fine-pointed inking style here.

The pachyderm and the close up panel of Black Lightning highlight this tension filled action piece. I wished I could have drawn comics when I was that age, Von Eeden was such a prodigy.
