Another page from my collection that needed to be rescanned and I am finally getting around to it.
Back in 1987, I was thrilled when the launched the new Silver Surfer series by Steve Englelhart and Marshall Rogers as I had been a great fan of Marshall's art.
So, I was sad when a year later it was announced that he was leaving the series but a bit hopeful when Ron Lim was chosen as his replacement.
I had followed Ron's work on Ex-Mutants and I thought he could do a good job on the Surfer. And he exceeded my expectations.
Here is page 1 of the first book in the series announcing him as the regular artist.
This was not his first work on the Silver Surfer as he had done a short story and a series of pin ups in Silver Surfer Annual 1 which came out a month before this book. And the short story was a prelude to this issue.

Pretty sure Reed is cheating. That's what really caused Secret Invasion, not the cows but Reed cheating Emperor Kl'rt out of gold at the intergalactic championships. Having burgers at the victory supper didn't help matters either.

Can't beat great looking art paired with that art being a historic piece and the start of Lim's SS run qualifies! Congrats!
