DescriptionRon Embleton vividly brings to life the grim reality of The Battle of The Bulge, which took place from 16th December 1944 to 25th January 1945.The top scene is taken from a famous photograph of the time, and is juxtaposed by the panel with Helen Keller visiting the wounded veteran below. The accompanying text in the published version erroneously references WWI. However, the scene with the soldiers passing the destroyed Stuart tank is based on a famous photograph taken during The Battle of The Bulge. Additionally the Stuart tank did not come into service until 1941. Thanks to Philip Rushton for providing background information on this piece. Definitely NOT for sale. Social/Sharing |
