Description
Manuel Gonzales is, without question, the most under-appreciated artist who ever worked for Walt Disney. Not only did he draw the Mickey Mouse Sundays in the late 1930s, he also was one of the three major publicity artists for Disney, beginning in about 1936. While Tom Wood and Hank Porter have been acknowledged as two of the fabulous artists in the publicity department, Gonzales' contributions (which in terms of quality equal or surpass Wood and Porter), has receoved almost no recognition. To my knowledge, only Howard Lowery has correctly attributed Disney publicity drawings to Manuel Gonzales.
