DescriptionIt's clear from my gallery that I'm a huge Carlo Pagulayan fan. His work has evolved a bit from his Planet Hulk days, but still maintains the hyper-realistic detailed work that I so love. Absolutely blown away with his venture further into color work.Social/Sharing |

Blown away here as well - Carlo seems to have no artistic boundaries - he can do it all. Congrats!

I think it's fair to say that this Rampaging piece is Incredible, Totally Awesome and possibly even Immortal!

Bursting out of the art, with such realism! Beautiful!

This is absolutely GLORIOUS, and at the risk of stepping on any toes, I always preferred the blue pants over the purple ones (I remember first seeing that in the reprint of 'Incredible Hulk' #118 in 'Origins of Marvel Comics', which was an underwater adventure vs. the Sub-Mariner... Obviously they were going for more "realism" with the pants colored blue rather than purple there... :) ). Astonishing work (you missed that one Ruben! :) ) - beautiful piece.

I personally love the purple pants for its historical aspect alone but agreed, blue pants make more sense. Reminds me of a scene in The Incredible Hulk with Ed Norton where Betty got a pair of stretchy purple pants and Bruce scoffs at them before tossing them aside. Thanks for the note!

Umm...this is literally one of the best Hulk pieces I've ever seen. Easily one of Carlo's best images and that's saying something! Great pose and the color rendering with the musculature is next level. One of the pieces where you think a pic/scan can't do it justice. Must be outstanding in person. Hulking congrats, T!

Thanks Khalil! Kirk (Carlo's rep) mentioned this was a passion piece and I believe it translated to one of his best works ever. And agreed, at the risk repeating one of the most over-used phrases in our hobby (maybe only second next to 'grail'), this really is more gorgeous in person.

Oh man, you don't know how badly I wanted to click on this image in hopes of seeing a bigger scan. This is an absolutely phenomemal painting! About as nice a Hulk piece as I've ever seen. Love the definition and tone on the musculature. A lot of times, artists tend to just gloss over that, but it's great to see the muscles so ripped. Great colors and perfect use of light and shadow too. I know there's no such thing as a perfect piece, but I'll be damned if this doesn't come close. Great pickup! Congrats buddy!

Thanks for the kind words Eric! Coming from the owner of such an amazing collection, it certainly means a ton. And agreed, this is certainly the perfect Hulk piece to me. Carlo definitely poured a ton into every aspect of it.
And I do apologize for the low quality scan hah; it's the one Kirk provided and I haven't had a chance to make a run to the scanners.
