Cover is for DC Comics Super Stars Superman Vol. 1 #5, which reprints All-Star Squadron issue #66-67. Interior art by Staton and Layton. Story "Injustice Strikes Twice" is content-heavy w/Powergirl. Original US cover was by Rich Buckler. © 1977 DC Comics, Inc. Espi's art is drastically different than US cover. Artboard has been hand-painted from edge to edge w/art showing Superman in flight. Art has two-piece vellum layout overlay which has extensive handwritten Spanish text (including title at top) and was once taped to back of artboard (it has since come loose). Back of artboard has handwritten "S. Stars 5" at top in pencil. Art remains bright and clean. Displays VF. A wonderful example from the era when Espí's art dominated covers of Spanish comic books, featuring one of DC's most popular characters and is unsigned by artist. Superb and dynamic cover art. Comes w/reading copy of the Spanish comic this cover art was created for. Interestingly, back cover features Spider-Man ad.
