Cover is for the La Cosa Y Thor Vol. 2 #77, which reprints Marvel Two-In-One Vol. 1 #23 and Marvel Team-Up #57 & 58 May and June 1977 (featuring Thing, Thor, Spider-Man, Black Widow, Ghost Rider, Silver Samurai) and was published in Spain by Mundi in 1974, ©1968 Marvel Comics Group. Artboard has been hand-painted from edge to edge but leaving strip at top for title w/art showing Thor and Thing versus The Devourer, a different layout from Marvel's cover art by Ron Wilson. Espí's re-interpretation is unique and inspired by panels in the story. Back of artboard has handwritten "S. Heroes 77, Nov. 1977" at top in pencil. 10x10.25" image area w/3.75" yellow strip at top. Artboard remains bright, clean and Exc. A wonderful example from the era when Espí's art dominated covers of Spanish Marvel comic books, featuring several of Marvel's popular characters and is signed by artist. Superb and dynamic cover art. Comes w/reading copy (detached cover) of the Spanish comic this cover art was created for. Also included is a 10.5x14" color portfolio from 2006 that includes a Panini/Marvel book about Espí's career and 10 full color plates on heavy stock featuring his unique Marvel cover artwork for Spanish comics.
