Description

Gary Martin inked the Rex the Wonder Dog story in Secret Origins 48. When I contacted him about art from the story, he said it was long gone but offered to draw a recreation. I asked Gary to recreate certain panels from the story rather than a particular page.

I decided to focus on the puppy and heroic aspects of Rex aspects of Rex rather than the animal experimentation in between. The soldier he is attacking in the lower right panel is the Nazi spy who just killed the scientist who created the serum tested on Rex. Because the story essentially gives Rex the origin of Captain America, I asked Gary to include Captain America�s shield.

I contacted Gary though his Facebook page. It was a great commission experience: quality, cost, and communication.
