Description
Not only a key page from X-Men, but a key page in Marvel history. The first story page from the first appearance of the new X-Men. Nightcrawler debuted on this very page. We see his struggles in his native Germany, just before Professor Xavier arrives to offer him a spot at his "School for Gifted Youngsters".

Dave Cockrum's name is on that list of artists to whom Marvel owes a large debt.

Another massively historic X page, first appearance of Nightcrawler, one of my favorites.  I have the animation cel they featured in the video used for this Heritage's auction.  Huge congrats!   Goes great with the other GSX page you have.  It's such a great start to this amazing character.

As a huge fan of Marvel super teams, I remember so vividly the very first time I read this story.  I had to laugh when I got to the end and read the last line.  What are we going to do with 13 X-Men?  Because I had been thinking that all through the story.  This page in particular stood out, because I remember thinking what a visually interesting character Nightcrawler was.  That  3rd panel is seared into my memory.  Congratulations on this truly historical piece of comic art.

It doesn't has to be a cover or splash page, to call it a grail. Congrats

If you raise the bar any higher, Bill Cox will need to build a bigger CAF ;)

Truly an incredible piece of history!  Congrats!!!

I love Cockrum's work so much. His designs for these characters were everything. Will is spot on that Marvel owes him a lot. Congrats on adding this amazing page!

Introducing him in ths manner instantly got the attention of kids anywhere who have ever been bullied and can identify with being different looking.  While the other X-Men can fit in society without much notice, Kurt could not turn off who he was and how others saw him.

Historic is correct. Will never forget reading this page for the first time years ago.

Congratulations! A great piece in anyone's collection.

KA-BAMF! That's the onomatopoeic sound when a sweet Nightcrawler page blows up my eyes. Cockrum killed it here. It a perfect page for NC, with the small-minded townsfolk, and Kurt having to stand up for himself (for the first time). Sweet score. Congrats!

Beautiful and classic. I cannot believe how cheap this page ended at. Everyone underestimated the importance of this first appearance!

A page of the highest order! As a kid I made no distinction between "modern" x-men issues and the Classic X-men reprint. They were all part of my childhood and I devoured these stories and loved these characters. Congratulations!

Wow.  I love how, on his first panel page appearance, it's all there.  His design, dynamic pose, the way his foreheard shadowing blends into his hair...outstanding.  Huge congrats on this, Dinesh!

Everybody else has already talked about the great design and how Marvel owes Dave a great debt, so I will mention how cool it was that Dave used a village straight out of a classic Universal monster movie, which, thanks to weekend midnight TV, I too was discovering. Cheers!

This the grail for the Nightcrawler fans out there from one of the most significant comics in Marvel history. The key among all Xmen books for me.
