These horror comics ran like anthologies with a new cast in every story and leaving us to second guess our assumptions about what their motives were. Wonderful pen and ink job that harkens to dark gothic horror tales popular during the 70's.
Oh wow! A Talaoc! I used to go from shop to shop as a kid seeking this guys comics out. Such a marvellously 'fluid' style that makes his drawings seem 'effortless.' And yet so surprisingly intricate upon closer inspection. I think Talaoc had a very finely developed sense of (understated) 'balance.'
I agree completely. I didn't care much about this page at first, but I started to appreciate, as you said, the intricacy within the seeming simplicity. Panel 5 with the woman going up the stairs while looking backward, and that downward yet curving camera angle, really won me over.
