Descriptionthe results of more virtual door knocking on caf and today’s mail call… double page spread by #johnpaulleon (pencils) and #billreinhold (inks) of earth x no.4, pages 8-9, july 1999, #marvelcomics. created by #alexross and written by #jimkruger, earth x was a series featuring a dystopian version of the #marveluniverse; and this dps depicts the stopping of #vibranium mining in #wakanda, africa, but #tchalla (aka #blackpanther), re the controversial activity, would like to be guided by the spirits and wisdom of the region’s animals who possess human speaking abilities; . this series is jpl’s magnum opus; each of the 14 issues of earth x had amazing dps; and this one is a fine example with the black panther, storm and the beast; jpl’s cinematography is in full effect… from the top panels with candid, tight hero shots, to the bottom wide-angle pov; . huge thanks to nick postic for making me believe that there’s great oa to be had from eastern canada; . note: bill’s photocopies of john’s pencils before it was inked is also included Social/Sharing |

Storm as queen of Wakanda is so fitting. John Paul Leon was so cool to bring all his shadows and creature designs for this grand throne room / royal court scene.

yes well executed by jpl; ross was responsible for many of the character designs per his pencils at end of each earth x issues
