This Lupin and Jigen piece by
Andy Beall caught my eye when Felix provided a teaser image of upcoming sketches. Hayao Miyazaki began his feature film directorial career with
Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro. This artwork captures a moment between two stellar action sequences. The opening scene shows Lupin and Jigen escaping from a casino heist only to discover the bills are all counterfeit. They resolve to uncover the secret in Cagliostro, but their Fiat suffers a tire blowout. After they replace the flat with the spare tire, they are passed by two cars. The first driver is a young woman in a wedding gown. The second car is filled with gunmen chasing her. Miyazaki devises one of the best car chases ever put on film. Cartoonist

Pixar Animation Studios. I've corresponded with Andy and met a few times. During Comic Art Live, I purchased some Dan Haskett drawings from him. The
Felix Comic Art drop was the first opportunity I had seen to purchase Andy's art. I purchased two out of four requests and am thrilled with my first choice here. I have a
Cagliostro commission request in the works, but this is the first Lupin to add to my Miyazaki gallery.
