Description
I became a huge fan of Joe Benitez’ steam punk heroine as soon as I saw the Free Comic Book day issue. I wanted a page from this series ever since then, and was able to finally pick up this stunning piece in December of 2019. Joe does the figure work and his collaborator, Martin Montiel does the background finishes. It’s a similar collaboration to how Dave Sim & Gerhard worked, I believe. What’s even more striking is that none of these pages are inked. They are all pure pencils.

Beautiful page. I too would like to find a Benitez page to add into my collection one day. This one is a fine example of his work. Congrats Philip!

Contact Tatiana Dykes. She reps Joe and still has some Mechanika pages available.

The Victorian age never looked this visually detailed or so exciting until Benitez and Montiel got down to work.
