Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight 127 Cover

Legends of the Dark Knight #127 (March 2000) original cover painting for "The Arrow and the Bat Part 1: The Meeting". This 5 story arc spanning issues 127 - 131 was a rare crossover featuring Oliver Queen as Green Arrow and Bruce Wayne as the Dark Knight. This first cover prominently features Ollie as Green Arrow preparing to fire a shot off his bow with a sneaky Batman silhouette hanging upside down in the window above. This painting (and all 5 for this story) was done by master painter Hugh Fleming. The brushstrokes seem to fly off the board, and the picture just does not do it justice or pay homage to his amazing painting skills. Hugh is also quite the perfectionist and was not happy with some minor imperfections from storage and age, so he did some minor touch ups prior to shipping it to me. The painting is signed from when he did in 1999 in the lower right corner. Accomplished in acrylics on Bainbridge Board Number 80, with dimensions of 15.75" wide by 23.5" high. I also was fortunate to work with a CGC facilitator so that Hugh could sign the published book and allow me to get the yellow signature series label. As of today, this is the only CGC copy period for this book, also making it the only Signature Series copy!
