DescriptionThe Beast connects mentally with Jean Grey and sees her in his favorite costume -- the Marvel Girl outfit. Immonen's storytelling in this double page spread is impeccable, as always.Social/Sharing |

Allow me to be the first to congratulate you, sir! Outstanding spread, feeling both brand new (with Immonen's approach and modern-feeling style) and classic (with the old Marvel Girl costume, and Beast walking the halls of the mansion makes me think of Byrne's Uncanny #113). The Mucha-like panel borders are just cherries and frosting on top of a gorgeously layered and textured cake; a feast for the eyes, without question. Superb pick up! Mega-congrats!

Thank you for the kind words, Jason! I had not made the connection to Alphonse Mucha, so I am very glad you did.

Immonen can really make us believe that this is the Marvel Girl from the 60's with a classic feel and optimism, not yet knowing the dark tragedy that would befall her. The Beast look may be from the later decades, but carries that same Hank charm with that smile.

Thanks for the kind comment, my friend! Immonen does wonders with character expressions and poses, as you so aptly note here.

Great spread - Immonen's storytelling chops are second to none, particularly using the DPS. Big congrats!

Thank you, my friend! Immonen is unparalleled in his storytelling. It's simultaneously action-packed and clear, which is a neat trick to pull off.
