I have four pages from this two-part story. An old "friend" of Simon Stagg turns out to be not so friendly. He lures the main characters into a trapped cave, intending to kill them in a pool of acid. In a rare show of teamwork, Metamorpho and his boss Simon turn the tables on their foe, saving Java and Sapphire in the process. By the early 1970s, it was considered reasonable for the good guys to throw the bad guys into the acid pool themselves.
