my first recreation commissions (4-month waiting list) are the b/w cover and interior page, where the subsequent colored pages are the actual published comics…

#pdx-area based #chriskohler is an incredible recreation artist, from neal adams, jack davis, frazetta to barry windsor smith he has recreated many; his repeat clients, many of whom own ionic original art by industry luminaries, reach out to him for recreations;

this legendary #batman # 244 from 1972 by penciler #nealadams, inker #dickgiordano and writer #dennisoneil takes me back to my early days of collecting, where i would take the bus to winnipeg lcs hunting for books such as this one to add to my collection;

the panel page 15 is as surreal as it gets for a then innocent me seeing a shirtless hero express his love; that just didn’t happen back in the days of comics; and chris recreated both pages to perfection;
.
sadly chris’ commission list is closed until early 2022; and if both these actual, non-recreation pages are ever in auction today—they would hit low seven figures usd
