Adding Jack Kirby art to a CAF gallery on Kirby's birthday, classy. Congrats.

Fantastic page from a really fun issue! Based on interviews, I think it still bugs Roy Thomas to this day that Jack made the Torch be Sol Brodsky instead of Roy.

Well, Stan was certainly 'flexible' when giving due credit to the artists.

Hilarious What if? page! It's fabulous that Stan and Jack and the rest of the Marvel Bullpen could laught at themselves! Great pick up!

What if the original Marvel Bullpen had become the Fantastic Four? Don't ask, just buy it. These pages bring a smile to my face the way few other pages of art could. Cheers.

Absolutely titanic adds, Marcus - yowza! What a treat to see pages from this book; 'What If...?' was always the book that had the biggest "fun factor" built into it, and the monthly publishing schedule allowed for tales we would never otherwise see (when deadlines had to be met and the more serious epics had already been 'What Iff-ed'). Was there ever a more self-referential issue than this one? Uh, no, but that's what made this one so awesome. I always love to guess at just how far the 'self-referential' thread extended, looking for clues in the dialogue to betray in-jokes or (even more dramatically) some tiffs, jabs, or ribbing (good natured or otherwise)... Ben/Jack being told, "Your best lacks style and speed" on page 35, and him saying here, "This one could be a classic if only you'd stay out of it!". Great stuff. Thanks for sharing these with us, Marcus (and beautiful framing job for these)!

I just love seeing consecutive Kirby pages in the same collection. It must bring all the warm fuzzies seeing these together in a portfolio or on the wall. Kudos!

Great page! That third panel is a straight FF Thing panel, and takes me right back. Glorious!

Mr Fantastic with that porn stache is so disturbing. At least there aren't any gold medallions nestled into his chest hair. Man, this was a great What If issue. Aside from the great Kirby work, I always enjoyed the creators as heroes stories they'd slip in here and there. It was like Not Brand Echh stories, or the like. Big congrats!

It is rather true to say that Stan seemed to have the porn star look down pat in the period. Then again so had many others. He did get many great artists to shag off. Lol

A fabulous page that typifies the enjoyment that comics could still offer back in the late 70's and puts the FUN in FUNTASTIC!

This page is thick with wonderful double entendre - "plotters", "this one could be a classic" - sublime!!
