Description

I reached out to John as soon as I heard he was on this book but I still wasn't fast enough, and Reba beat me to some gorgeous pages. Congrats! I was still able to grab some pretty nice pieces, presented here for your enjoyment.

After several years in the hobby, and several hundred pieces, this is the first time that an artist send such a comprehensive package of supporting material. Mr McCrea sent a signed copy of the book, his original script, broken down by page, which also have prelim drawings on the backs. It provides a fascinating glimpse into the process, and is much appreciated. I have included that information in the additional images section.

Housekeeping aside, this was a fantastic issue, diving deep into the mystic, and old, relationship between John Constantine and the Swamp Thing. McCrea's artwork is perfectly suited to the task at hand.

I guess he had enough with bad WIFI for his YouTube streams and decided hardwiring was the way to get fast reliable gig speeds.

A wonderful looking page! For those who saw the art in this issue and wondered why DC elected to use an artist with a completely different illustrative approach than regular artist Mike Perkins has to draw this issue, when they typically will try to get someone with a similar approach in order to get the book looking consistent even when a fill-in is needed, it's because Perkins is a friend of McCrea's and it was he who put in a good word with editors to have McCrea be his replacement for this issue.

Thanks for the info and I think the "interlude" worked wonderfully. I mean, remember when Sam Keith used to fill in? My young mind was blown.

Ha, I was indeed speedy to get my pages and it was incredibly hard to choose only two. I love yours so much as well! These are lovely depictions of Swampy and the body horror going on in the issue. John was just a perfect choice for this one and agree that it was genuinely good of him to also include the relevant page of script and art outline for our pages. Congrats back at you too!
