A Superb, Scarce Original Watercolor painting on paper by Ludwig Bemelmans (see bio below). This spectacular large piece depicts an adorable pair of mallard ducks (Mother or Father with a juvenile duck), in the fantastic, coveted, Bemelman’s artistic style. A concept sketch from Bemelmans classic “Madeline In London”. The collectible Publisher/artists stamp of “BEMELMANS MADELINE” is located to the front of the artwork lower right, and the notes of “Sketch for Madeline in London” lower center. This stunning piece is signed by Ludwig Bemelmans with a very large 4.5″ signature “Bemelmans”.
Presented newly matted, framed and glazed with all archival materials and UV glass. Ludwig Bemelmans always considered himself an artist first, and an author second. This piece is richly toned in watercolors in the classic Bemelmans style. Has an important, wonderful large presence on the wall, presented in a stunning gilt toned frame using all archival materials and UV glass.
This piece is SIGNED by Ludwig Bemelmans lower right. Original works of art by Bemelmans are extremely scarce.
