Interesting that this ran weekly on a Saturday. Even the violence of this tale and the image of a beheaded Goliath would not trigger any censorship as long it's from the good book.

You are absolutely correct, I think that's why a lot of artists wanted to do these Bible stories, they were able to have much more freedom than a regular strip. In one of these stories they even showed a toppless woman, no way could they get away with that in any other strip!
