Description
It took me forever to come around to Chaykin's American Flagg! (which was directly Chaykin's fault, detailed elsewhere), but now that I'm onboard I get to properly enjoy Danny Fingeroth's “Magazine About Writing for Comics, Animation & Sci-Fi” cover, which apparently's also a good source for finding Howard Chaykin alternate American Flagg! covers. I've been enjoying tons from the TwoMorrows stable since the Jack Kirby Collector #5—so much great art and articles.

A striking cover as Reuben makes eye contact with the audience.  The Chaykin composition and tight detail are interesting to follow along.

American Flagg blew me away when it originally hit the stands and I'm still amazed at how original Chaykin's art was and still is.  The design in the facial features here is fantastic and the composition is right on!  There is always attitude and style to burn in every one of Chaykin's drawings
