For sure!  I mean, who wouldn't want bionic legs and a telescopic eye?  Oh wait, you were talking about the other thing, right?  Ha!  Seriously though, it's hard to believe that this girl was lost in relative obscurity doing shampoo commercials.  Then, at the age of 29, when most young ingenues careers are starting to wane, she poses for a poster and becomes a superstar almost overnight.  Like I said, the 70's were crazy man!

Was the other thing bionic too? They did not mention that; just the legs and eye.

Thanks buddy!  Yeah, I love all the blue also.  Would love to know his reason or reasons for that choice, but I'm pretty sure it was a deliberate and conscious choice, or else he would have just done this in pencil as many of his other portraits are done.  If I wanted to be one of those snobby art guys trying to analyze it, I might guess that because the photograph was inundated with warm colors (the red swimsuit, the beach blanket backdrop, the warm skin tones) maybe he wanted to re-channel and isolate the "heat" of the piece by painting it in a cool color and letting her sensuality be the over riding factor.  But what do I know?  I'm no artist.  LOL

My big brother had that on his wall. He liked to go look at it a lot. We didn't discuss it...heh. Martin did a fantastic job, and I love the choice to use another pose from the shoot. I could tell it was a bit different, thanks for the explanation (and including those other pics). I'm assuming this is going right on the wall. :) Great pick-up. Congrats!

Had it on my wall too, along with my Bruce Lee and Led Zepelin posters.  But unlike your brother, I didn't want to keep running to my room to look at it, so I just got it on a shirt.  Of course that just presented  an entirely different set of logistical problems.  LOL!  Seriously though, it was fun doing the research on this for my write up.  Still can't believe they went through 40 rolls of film.  In my internet searches, I found about a half dozen different shots, but that's not very much when you consider those 40 rolls.  I just decided to feature those three because they were the closest in similarity.  Just wonder who actually made the final choice.  Also makes me wonder how James decided on the shot he chose to draw.  Anyway, thanks for the great comment and for making me laugh.  Stay safe buddy!
