Deliberate and stretched out for maximum effect to give a finality without any question. Buckingham's storytelling is focused and with purpose to get to the point.

Terrifyingly beautiful, hauntingly tragic, and heartbreakingly final... In a series fraught with tragic and beautiful moments, this one particularly stands out. Dare's grim determination on page 16 (as every reader viewing it watches in horror) sets up the devastating emotional impact on page 17. Page 17 is a tour de force in and of itself, as black engulfs the page, and the reader's act of following the lone drop of blood down into the abyss also moves them towards the bottom right corner of the page, so they can turn it. Even after having been guided so gently and expertly to turning the page, I'm certain more readers than just I couldn't do it right away, and sat with the emotions of this moment. Brilliant (BRILLIANT) storytelling, and an amazing sequence to add to your gallery, Patrick! Sincere congratulations!
