Description
Penciled by Hal Forrest and inked by Reynold Brown in the later years of the strip (1936-1942), Tailspin Tommy ran in newspapers from 1928 to 1942. The character was in the movies in the 30’s and surprisingly didn’t take off after World War II started. I think the artwork is strong and a great example of the Golden Age of strip art. The actual artwork is huge, and much larger than 2x up comic art.

'The artwork is strong' is a serious understatement. It's really striking. Love these additions! Golden Age? Uh-oh...new focus?

Captures the fascination of war and of flight during the time before we could even dream of flying into space.  Great illustrations to show how it looked inisde these planes before most Americans ever took a commercial flight.
