Very excited to finally get a Dan Jurgens Cap piece - especially to this commemorative issue. The last issue to Cap's 3rd volume (#50, cover date February 2002) features an all-star lineup of creators - and this is the splash page to the last story from Jurgens' incredible run from 2000 to 2002, inked by longtime partner Bob Layton.

Jurgens' art can get very refined as we've seen in his earlier Warlord work, but for Cap he adds the bulk and mass of a Superhero Soldier. This is where Layton excels because if he can make bulky Iron Man look graceful and powerful, doing the same for Cap is a sure thing.
