Scooping up some noteworthy first appearances lately! Nice!
Oh that's badass! He is such a fun character!
Legendary, my friend! Full metal congrats!
Badass DPS Mentor! That sniper is spot on!
I'd just like to say that I'm genuinely surprised you weren't familiar withth word "garotte" until now. It's not what you would call a "commonly used" word by any means, but for a guy who has read as much as you have, I'd have bet you'd seen it before. But you're absolutely right, I learned a lot of vocabulary from reading comics!
You're right, I knew the word. I just had to look it up to make sure I had the right context and the correct spelling. Funny, when I was writing my description, I could feel myself intentionally "dumbing myself down," which is a defense mechanism from decades ago when I was in school and didn't want to appear too smart. Well, and I also wanted my joke to land about learning new words from comics, especially macabre ones like "garrote." (And I knew that word "macabre" too, lol)
You have to know your audience or else you'll get booed off like Borat at the rodeo. Sacre blue, me a dum dum.
Great throttled action sequence over the two pages where Agent Venom stifles the enemy and chokes out their plans for world domination. The Ramos artwork smothers us with suppressive darkness where Agent Venom puts a stranglehold on our attention and leaves us asphyxiated from the breathtaking way he garrottes the no name enemy.
I always love your comments, but this is one of my favorites with your clever and descriptive wordplay. Quite poetic really. Bravo! :-)
I loved this sequence, and you got the best page from it, congrats!
As I read your description, I had to google this Marvel "Flash". Anyway, this DPS got a great sequence of panels.
Thanks for sharing this DPS Paul, this is a great Ramos and really showcases his kinetic animey side.
Your description and this imagery has me thinking I might need to read this story. Ramos really delivers here with great story-telling in the art. Congrats Paul - thanks for sharing!
Mellifluent death, thy name is garotte. It sounds so innocuous and sweet, right? But it most certainly ain't. GURGLE! THUMP! I cut my linguistic teeth on comics, too. :) This DPS is really dynamic. I love those floating frames to show him choking people out as he stands on the ceiling behind them. Just great visual storytelling. Another awesome addition, Paul. Congrats!
Great layout and subsequent storytelling, lending to the stealth mission scene setting. Cuevas inks really contribute to that, too. Those bottom images, with the taken-out dudes framed with thin borders...clever stuff for sure. Congrats!
