Barney Google Single Panel Daily December 16, 1931 - - Barney amongst the Cubabies!

While I had already bought the 1930 daily in which Barney Google sold the front end of Spark Plug, I really began to collect DeBeck's greatest creation when I purchased this strip several years later. I had seen an ad for a Great International Derby strip from 1931 listed for sale at $375 in a comic strip collecting magazine. When I called to see if the strip was still available, I was told that it wasn't but that the seller (Richard Halegua) had a "much better" Google available for $1,200. This is that strip, and, after buying it, I went on a Google buying spree for the next several years. Even after more than 30 years, I'd still like to acquire that International Derby strip that got away!
