Welcome back to Shemp's Gallery. It's birthday month here at the Gallery. Not my birthday. I will try to celebrate a new artist every week whose birthday is in October.

Who better to celebrate Halloween with than the ultimate horror artist Bernie Wrightson. Bernie Wrightson, born October 27, 1948 was an American artist known for his horror illustrations and comic books.

This Batman piece, done in the early 80's on 3 ply Strathmore board, is huge. It measures 14 1/2 X 23 1/2 and its impressive. It's the best Wrightson Batman I've ever seen. A masterpiece if there ever was one.

Happy Birthday to Bernie Wrightson on what would be his 73rd birthday. Thank you for everything you did.

Intense and contemplative piece as you get the classic look by Wrightson! The masterful balance of black and white with sharp delineation creates an illustrative work meant to last the test of time.

Beautiful! I have a pencil prelim to this piece and I've been looking at this inked piece for years now. Huge congrats!

Congrats! Must be a sight in person, especially with how big it is. Love that he's got his right arm resting on the building. Wrightson...man could do no wrong. Great Halloween add!
