Description
Back in 1988 when I wrote to Dan Day about purchasing art from this series, I asked about the title pages. Dan replied that there was a collector that had reserved all the title pages but only wanted the title pages that adapted the original Arthur Conan Doyle stories.
At the time, this was the only story that was not written by Arthur Conan Doyle and so it was available.

Fantastic line art! But honestly, there are bits in your description that are just as good as the art!

You get everything you need from Day out of this one!  It's an overall great design of the dps showing the beginning and the end with the front of the train engine and the caboose.  Day's images of Sherlock and Watson run on each side of the pages and bring screen likenesses to this.  The small overhead shot at the bottom is also amazing.  The rain effects give it even more energy.
