Black Badge (2018) #5 Pg. 6 [B] by Hilary Jenkins [color art]

This is the original art for Black Badge #5 page 6 by Hilary Jenkins done in gouache on watercolor paper at 11" x 17." I haven't yet read this series, or seen this art printed, so I don't know if it prints without blacks like this, or if this is just the color art, but I have to say this looks pretty spectacular by itself. The shading on the figures provides a lot of detail despite its simplicity, and I keep looking at it perhaps BECAUSE it lacks the blacks which normally provide us with guidelines for where to look and where not to look. Without that, I just keep searching the artwork for more hidden in the color. Neat.
