Description

So, once upon a time I commissioned Ben for several pieces at once, among them two character designs. Sometime after he sent me scans of them he misplaced the board he’d drawn them on. After a bit of time he finally realized that he’d flipped the board over at some point, forgotten the characters were on it, and proceeded to do a full cover for an idea he had for continuing Ninja High School.

He offered to redo the characters for me on another board, but I’m the anal sort who likes to own everything from the sketches to the final piece of a commission. So I just bought the cover off him.

I still haven’t used the character designs. I might integrate them into something I’m working on. Time will tell.

ETA 12/17/21: I was looking through the NHS RPG, and discovered that, along with several of my commissions, this page was used as interior art as well. I updated it to a published interior page, but kept the title, for historical purposes.

ETA 5/14/22. I was looking through both editions of the NHS RPG, and found it was used in different places in each version. The Savage World edition used it for page 18, while the D6 edition used it for page 24.

Giant Size X-Men 1 homage in that Ben Dunn manga style. A unique piece.

I hate to admit it, but in all these years I never picked up on that it was a homage.
