DescriptionColor Guides are an interesting piece of the Comic Creation process… especially vintage ones like this hand colored one by Glynis Wein from the Great John Byrne X-men run… Original Art from this run have skyrocketed out of reach for most collectors.. color guides are still pretty affordable, if you can find them! Glad I grabbed this one retelling parts of the original X-men Teams origin.. although color guides will never be a main focus of my collection… if I happen upon some vintage ones form important story lines I will be glad to grab them!Social/Sharing |

Unforgettable issue with Byrne's interpretations of the early X-Men history retold here in the aftermath of the Dark Phoenix Saga where Cyclops calls it quits. The colors did add a lot to the stories as the costumes designed by Dave Cockrum had many primary colors that worked well together on and off the team. Wein's contributions to blend those colors to complete the shiny package was what struck many who read the comics off the stand.

it's always cool to see these. the colors have some great pop to them and juist a great page overall.
