Description
This is a page from the first comic book I ever had. The book featured work by such greats as Sal Buscema, Walt Simonson, Dave Cockrum, Art Adams, Klaus Jansen, Ron Garney, John Byrne, Al Milgrom, and many more. I can talk about that book endlessly, as I read that book so many times that it's forever memorized and occupying space in my brain.

This page is from the Captain America story, and it features the first appearance of Rebecca Barnes, Bucky's sister. Later on, she would be re-tooled in Heroes Reborn to be Rikki Barnes. It is drawn by Ron Lim and Jim Sanders III. I met Ron once at a convention, and he was very polite. Jim Sanders and I had a brief correspondence on social media before he passed away. At the time, we were planning on collaborating on a short story of one of my creator-owned books.

I am thrilled to have a page from the first comic book I every had. I am always looking for art from this book as well as the other Holiday Specials that I can afford or trade for. The inside back cover from 1991 Marvel Holiday is something I've been looking or for years, but I don't even know if it still exists.

I remember this story well from when this book first hit the stands.  Lim did a great job on what was a touching tale.

Thanks Michael! Indeed, so many great stories in this issue! Cockrum X-Men, Buscema Thor, Art Adams/Simonson FF! So many great creators hooked me instantly!

Great page from a great story.  It reveals Steve Rogers is a stand up person and is still Cap even out of the costume when volunteering his time.  The surprise on his face with the reveal of Bucky's sister on this page is handled quite well.

Thank you Marcus! Absolutely! Action stories are great, but I have always appreciated the stories that were more on the quiet side and showed more character depth.
