Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman in Batman Returns (1992) study by Kurt Brugel

I have enjoyed many interpretations of the Batman mythos and characters, from Batman the Animated Series to the Christopher Nolan films, and everything in between, but I have to say that Batman Returns will always stand out to me as a special take on the material. It wasn't perfect, but I loved the way it was BOTH dark and also child-like (gotta love Tim Burton for that), and Catwoman from that movie will always be the quintessential Catwoman for me (I do also love the Joelle Jones version).
