Nice Dondi strip as it looks like a very early one where it sets up that friendly people welcomed immigrants like him and the press and the public will fall in love with the kid.
It is a very early Dondi strip. Dondi was first published by the Chicago Tribune and New York News. The first episode of the strip ran on September 25, 1955. He was a 5 year old in that strip and Dondi ran until 1986. So after 31 years he wss quite an old little boy!
