Man From Atlantis #4 pg. 22 - Frank Robbins & Frank Springer *Sold*

I thought this was a cool little car chase sequence and the price was right. He really manages to create a sense of motion throughout the page and I particularly like how the front window of the car divides up the middle panel creating two separate action beats when you read it. When I was initially introduced to Robbins’ work it was through some early Invaders issues and I’ll confess I wasn’t a fan until I saw his Johnny Hazard work. Later on I revisited the Invaders stuff and realized it was Colletta’s inks I was having a hard time with and once Frank Springer comes along the work really sings! Ultimately I’d love an Invaders page but for now I’m very happy to have at least one example of Robbins’ comics work to go along with my strip collection.
