DescriptionWard did several of these preliminary pieces as he approached the final piece. Some are more defined than others. Being a Phantom Lady (and Ward) fan, I was glad to be able to add this to the collection. Nice that Bill signed and dated this when he either gifted or sold it.The other image is a proof of the final work (also signed) Social/Sharing |

One of those fabled classic early overstreet covers that every store used as a bible. This prelim has most of the layouts and compositions down to get across the hot to handle nature Ward was best known for.
