Disney "Nine Man" WWII Insignia Drawing for 9th Air Force Base Post Office by Hank Porter (Walt Disney, c. 1945). The recipient of this charming World War II logo was the 9th Air Force Base Post Office. The "Nine Man" figure in the image, known as such because of his figure's nine-like shape, holds a bag of letters and wears a stamp atop his rounded head. The 9th Post Office group was likely in England when their insignia arrived; the Hank Porter-created design was finished in about October of 1945. This large drawing is rendered with graphite and blue pencil on onionskin paper. The piece measures about 7.75" x 9.75", and it is marked in its lower left corner with 1376. This terrific drawing is in Very Good condition, with some handling and edge wear, including minor smudging and a few small creases.
