Description
Designed for a group of aviation machinists, metalsmiths, enginemen, electricians and ordinance men who's primary job was to service, rearm, and make minor repairs on land planes or seaplanes, large or small. Faced with a lack of carriers most CASU units moved into captured islands following the Marines and Seabees to do their job on captured air fields. The path to Japan was "Island Hopping". When aircraft arrived they then assisted the Marines with their next island target pushing the Jap back toward Tokyo. There were approximately seventy CASU units; most in the Pacific. - This historic drawing measures about 8.25" x 8.25". - The paper is not torn, but the picture was taken in my shadow.
